Hey all...

I hope you all had great holidays and Santa was good to you! I haven't had much time to read the forum as I am out visiting my family in New Hampshire.

However, I got to see my new grandson for the first time last Saturday. (wow, is he ever cute!!)

I took a ton of photos of him and my son and his wife. In fact several came out so well I blew two of them up to 8x10's. My brother's partner has a framing business so he framed and matted them for me.

They look professional! I gave them to my son and his wife for Christmas and they were estactic. GREAT photos of Jackson's first Christmas.

I'm a happy camper with this camera (and that 70-200 L IS lens from Dell....)

Smiles,

Holly

You can't go wrong with that combo! The 10D and the infamous 70-200L IS! Excellent!

We love your 10D. Do you love our 10D's too? :)

Yes! I love everyone's 10D's too! (and when you all post photos - which I haven't had time to do yet - but when I get home - I'll post one of the grandson - and of course an obligatory cat photo.....)

Smiles,

Holly

I can add to that, I love my 10D too! Glad you're having fun w/ the 10D, it is a cracker of a camera! We look fwd to seeing these pics.

Speaking of which, I have an experiment to try...stay tuned! I have some online pics and am gonna try to imbed one. This was taken in July, 2003 in the Samaria Gorge, in Crete, Greece by me. Is it Canon EOS 50E (35mm), or 10D? No cheating!

Woo-hoo, finally figured it out! Anyway, enjoy! I have changed my mind to include this one of Carew Castle, in Dyfed, Wales! The one from Greece wil be another day.

Wow! That quote sure hosed the page. Happens from time to time here.

Anyway, too bad the sky was grey that day. You need to go find a pic with some nice blue sky and clouds and overlay the castle over it.

Jim,
Have you even been over here? Try finding one of them! It is NOT easy. When I find a good one, I'll try that. Until then, it is rather difficult. Wales is a million times worse than England from cloudy days! It is 3m E of Pembroke, Pembrokeshire, south Wales. Here's the wesite if interested with more pics: http://www.castlewales.com/carew.html and note there isn't one clear day in the pics! Cool, though!

No, I have never been to England/Great Britain but would certainly love to make it there some day. I have heard how cloudy/foggy it is there, but I'd feel right at home being from Washington State as we have similar weather.

Believe me you would be right at home! I have been to Washington (Longview and up the interstate to McChord AFB). You'd really like Wales too! It is so flipping green! I think you'd find it really interesting. The fog in this area has been so bad you have about 20 or 30ft visibility several times. I'm referring to Cambridgeshire and Norfolk/Suffolk in the Fens region in East Anglia where the 3 meet up and beyond. You'd have to look at a map. I have never seen fog anything like this anywhere other than here.
