I can't decide if I like this or not. My intent was to show off the dress. I'm not too sure since I did not include her head. Does it look too odd?
Thanks,
Tom

With a tighter crop I think it would look nice, just above the pendant on the necklace maybe

See what B&W looks like maybe. The composition has potential, IMHO.

When I first looked it really did nothing for me. After looking for a bit longer it seems to be gaining appeal with me.
I'd probably darken the background though. Maybe even to a complete black?

This would probably work as a black and white texture type shot. Personally I would have focussed on the flowers and blurred the bride, which would have allowed you to crop more freely.

I like it. I think the flowers look dull and the crop would be nice right at the shoulder but I like the detail in her dress.

what he said.
I think the color is off a bit, but I don't think it matters...would probably look good B&W. I like the shot though!

Quick Fix, hope you don't mind.

enhanced colour for skin tone, bumped up the contrast a touch and cropped. PS Elements 4

Sorry PixelChick78 I didn't realize that I wasnt allowing people to repost my images. I corrected that. Could you repost your fix to my photo. I would be interested to see what you did to it.
Thanks,
Tom

I like it, but I agree with song4themoon about cropping just above the pendant. That way you don't see her neck and get that chopped off the head look.

I'm gonna disagree with everyone - I don't like it. Not because her head is cropped, but because it lacks a point of focus. What are we supposed to be looking at? If you had instead gone a little lower and filled the frame with the bouquet or cropped a little tighter so that the bouquet is not visible (making the necklace the focal point) it would be more effective (IMHO).

Thanks everyone for your thoughts on this. Well....I'm left with the same feelings as I started with and that is that some will like it and some will not. That's ok. I feel that when I shoot a wedding, not only am I there to shoot images that I hope to sell more copies of, but I'm also there to document the day. In this image it was my hope just to show off the dress and pendant. I'm pretty sure that I wont be selling any enlargments of this image but I hope that it helps tell the story of their day. It is possible to work on the image more to possibly make it more appealing.

It's not doing much for me, to be honest.
