I like this photographer’s work. http://www.cambridgeincolour.com/cambridge-gallery.htm (http://www.cambridgeincolour.com/cambridge-gallery.htm)

One of the techniques he uses he described in his tutorial about Dynamic Range: http://www.cambridgeincolour.com/techniques_dynamic-range.htm (http://www.cambridgeincolour.com/techniques_dynamic-range.htm)

After reading his instruction I am afraid I still do not understand. Can anyone point me in the direction of further information on this technique and its practical application? Or perhaps enlighten me as to how this is accomplished.

Thanks in advance!

The technique on this specific page is to use as Graduated Neutral Density filter. It is dark at the top and fades to clear at the bottom. You use it with a filter holder mounted on the lens and adjust it up and down to block the bright sky and reveal the darker foreground.
