View Full Version : EOS-1D Driver Problems in XP

After a brief stint on a waiting list, I finally recieved my 1D today. Downloading images is not possible at this time due to XP drivers failing to work. This is only my assumption and I would like to hear from any other XP users on driver problems. With only two 128MB CF cards, I can only take so many pictures and can't even see the results in enough detail through the LCD to see if they are even worth saving! Talk about the best of times and the worst of times!

Thanks for any replies

Hi
I have a 1-D and I am having the same problem with there software.
I purchased a card reader and copy the files to my hard drive that's how I took care of that for the time being.
I didn't have a problem installing there viewing and image processing software which installed the plug-in for Photoshop.
The problem came when I tried to hook-up remote capture and which also is used to set up perameriters for the camera and a bunch of other things.
Canon says they will have an updated driver out by the end of the month or so
Will see
I hope I halped you and if anybody has any sugestions for these problems please let the forum know.

Thanks
Keith

Greetings Keith
Just curious, have you had any problems or surprises with focus problems? After about 200 test shots using a 20-70mm f/2.8L USM and sometimes my 16-35mm f/2.8L USM usually in manual mode, sometimes in autofocus mode, I've come to the conclusion that the image is focused where it should be, however, not at all sharp in my opinion. It is possible that I am just expecting a little too much? Otherwise, I absolutely love the camera.

Take Care

Greetings Keith
Several people have been re-booting and connecting the camera (turned on) after the initial boot sequence has started, but before windows has loaded. This will work until the connection is broken. At least worth the effort if you desire to adjust settings or prefs that cannot otherwise be adjusted. It worked for me as far as making adjustments, however, cannot download images.
