Hi POTNers!
I have seen some nice pictures of The Netherlands lately from Neilyb. So I thought I'd share some more picture of this treasure for photographers. If you like flat landscapes and beautiful skies that is... Many famous painters from the past have chosen the Dutch landscape as their subject. So much for the proud bla bla :D
Both these shots were taken at the west side of the IJsselmeer. I'll add the first CC and then I will let you all decide on other comments. Yes the shots were taken under the worst lighting conditions with the sun high in the sky. So what I did on the first shot is that I toned the sweet corn field down a bit using a gradient mask on a brightness adjust layer. Second has the same done but now for the sky.
Enjoy and please let me know how to improve.

This water pump windmill was used to keep the Dutch feet dry after the polder was reclaimed from the sea in 1632... This polder is the lowest in the Netherlands. Two clay pits have been dug near this mill and the lowest point is 6.2 meters below sea level. The clay pits were created when the clay was used to reenforce the water defences, but soon it was realized that removing the clay just behind the dike to highten the dike itself is not a very smart thing to do... So the idea was abandoned but the pits remain.
