"Wedding" Pictures

Not sure if this is an appropriate forum to post this, because it was not taken at a real wedding... I am considering getting into wedding photography after I learn more, read books ( including a few of the ones some members listed here - thanks for the recommendations) and find a job as a 2nd shooter first. Maybe next year? We'll see. In the meantime I had a friend model for me and I took these just for fun. C&C welcome.

#2 is very nice. There is a huge difference in having a friend model in a nice dress and producing quality images during an actual wedding though. What you have to decide is whether or not you could produce similar quality with a stressed bride, groom who poses like the tin-man, 25 guests in the back ground (or foreground) all wanting to shoot your poses with their cameras, in the 20 minutes for creative photos, which was originally scheduled to be an hour and a half. ... if that thought excites you, then I say go for it!

Oh, believe me, I really do understand that there is huge difference in the environments, like I said, this was just for fun and I actually really learned a lot from doing it, even though it was staged. I am not at all confident that I could produce similar quality at the real deal yet, that is why I plan to study for the next year to learn more.
I am not sure if all the stresses involved in wedding photography excite me or not, but it might and I have given it quite a bit of thought so far. It is not something I am taking lightly or just deciding on a whim to try. I have a great amount of respect for all you who are pros at it!

Good plan. It sounds like you've thought this out so you'll probably be fine if you decide to jump into wedding photography. It can be a lot of fun too, its not all stress.
