the buckets on the hood (aka bonnet) are used to carry more weight to counter the tendency to flip over when going up hill , and the thing behind being pulled is to losen up the soil befor seeding , my friend is constantly making "improvments" on stuff , he has been building his house for over 7 yearsr now and has come up with countless "time saving " (his words not mine) items like this one

hahha I love this. Some friends and I used a couple old riding mower (its KY) to do a "tug-of-war" and they both just spun their wheels. In the end, the Cub Cadet won over my Simplicity. Riding mowers can tow LOTS with proper traction. Tell him to let out about 5psi from the rear tires and it'll do even better!
