It's been discontinued for a while now, ever since the 30D came out earlier this year. :)

Someone asked me if I might be interested in her 20D and once I saw that it was discontinued...I felt like I would be buying an 'old' piece of equipment...IMO

Because we all know that cameras, computers, cars, ect stop working and catch on fire when they are discontinued.

Well,to be honest... I'm happy that there is people that think that once a new model is out, the previous model is no good anymore.
Thanks to people that think that way, I'll be able to buy a very cheap 5D one day... I just have to wait for the 6D (or whatever they name the replacement) to come out.
So... yeahhhhh.... 20D.... yeahhh.... discontinued.... old technology, go and get the latest one.... that will help me to get a good deal on a great camera in the future :)

B+H still has brand new ones, for $979 (without lens)....whats the point in the 20D when you can get the 30D without lens for $1169?

Amazingly enough, the day Canon announced the 30D my poor old 20D burst into flames, just like those Buddhist Monks used to in protest at the Vietnam War.
It was a sad day :(

<snip>...any thoughts?
The first thought that comes to mind is the 10D. In fact, I'm sure there is a thread somewhere on the net (perhaps even in this very forum) that reads..."10D now discontinued?"...and perhaps (in the not-too-distant future) we'll see a thread titled "30D now discontinued" ...but I too am anxious to see the 5D replaced so I can score one at a significantly lower cost!!
As long as Canon factory support isn't discontinued for the 20D, then I'm extremely happy with my "old camera".
