Canon S45

Hi people........I am new in the digital world of photography and I wanted to ask you for some basic advices.
I just came from Paris and of course the first thing I did is to run through my digital pictures I took there.
Some of them were just perfect.......but many were too blur and not focused properly.
I want to know how to use my camera best. I am trying to shoot in the P mode putting the flash off and maybe changing a bit the exposure and sometimes the ISO if its dark. The thing is that many times its blur.......I cant stay still for so long......I mean on normal cameras there is nothing like this.........so the pictures are blur many times especially if I am shooting in the dark or in some rooms. Do I have to use flash? Most of the times it just makes the background so dark that I cant see anything :(
I know many questions........but please give me some valuable tips.....especially about the blury problem and sometimes the focus also.......maybe I should know some basic techniques ?!

Hi,

when you see the motion warning symbol on the lcd it's always wise to use a flash. You can also use the Tv setting, and then set the exposure to 1/30. But I'm afraid that when it's really dark inside you can't avoid using a flash, but that's not only with your S45 but with any (non)digital camera.
