Hi,

I'm a newbie here so i'm not sure if this has been posted already. I recently downloaded some AVIs from my S30 and when i tried opening it in windows media there are no videos/pictures being shown. I can only hear the sounds. It seems to be working in the camera. I just had this problem recently. Previous downloads were okay, which was about a couple of months ago.

Anybody know the solution for this?

Thanks.

Try download the latest quicktime player, and you should be able to play it.

is there a patch from Microsoft for the Windows Media Player 9.0? That is the player i'm currently using now.

It's seem to me that you need to download appropriate codecs for AVI (MJPG codec??). Read the manual, found the algorithm name/codecs name of your AVI generated by your cam. then search on google :D

I am having the same problem. Right now I am trying to convert the file from a .avi to an .mpg to play it thorough Windows Media Player. I have not had any luck as of yet. I am still trying to do that. I want to incorporate a movie in a powerpoint presentation. I can't do that unless windows media player plays the file. I will keep you posted if I find anything.

I am able to convert my avi to mpg using windows movie maker. Open the movie maker and import the avi file. It is automatically converted to a mpg file.
