A couple of shots from today

Finally got some sun in this area today after a number of days of rain. Fall is quickly approaching , not too many critters to photograph. Here's a couple from this afternoon. Not great. Still practicing.

Like the 2nd one, interesting Wasp by the looks of it, and nice composition. Both shots appear to be underexposed though :( #1 looks a bit soft focus wise as well, but #2 looks fine :)

Thanks for the feedback Dave. My exposure seems to be all over the place but these images don't look too bad on my monitor which I suspect is a tad too bright. I need to calibrate my monitor closer to standard.

Probably, my monitor isn't 100% perfect, but is decently calibrated (by eye). I'd be curious to see what other posters say.

Agree with Dave- they do look a bit dark. Suspect it's down to shooting the bugs on a pale surface- I've been doing that a lot recently and the shots come out nearly one stop underexposed- keep forgetting to adjust the FEC under those circumstances :)
Excellent detail in both shots though.

Really nice portrait on the 2nd, but I agree with above that those shots are slightly underexposed :-( Were you using a flash, I cant read exif.
