Hey there. I've been shooting digital SLR now for about 3-4 years and it's coming along however I still have trouble shooting in some conditions and would love to take a class in general and advanced digital photography here in LA. Took some great adult classes at James Buroughs High School and they had an awesome studio and do still have classes however they are sortof the same class that I took and have not advanced.
Can anyone advise me where to go or push me in the right direction for this.
Thanks
Joe

Community colleges should offer better classes. East LA College has pretty extensive photography classes.

I have heard some EXCELLENT things about Tricommunity in Covina - From LA, out the 10, past the 605, but before the 57.
I am looking at getting more formal education, and had pretty much decided on a degree in Fine Arts / Photography at Cal State Fullerton. The manager at Samys (who taught for 20 years at Dominguez Hills) asked me, "Do you want a degree, or do you want to learn the craft of photography?" He was the first to tell me about Tricommunity. Others that I have talked to have seconded the opinion.
Again, this is not personal experience talking her - I am just repeating what I was told, but I think you should at least look into it.

LA Shooters is a local photo club of mine and we encourage newbies to come and learn.
Best way of learning is by doing, not studying about it I say.
