This is a couple that has been married for two years, but they regretted never having done an engagement style session at that time. They wanted to add to a family album they were creating, and they wanted to include their 14 year old hyper dog in there too....before Sparky went to doggie heaven.

We used Balboa Park in San Diego. These are just straight proof quality conversions from RAW w/ no processing/cropping. There are plenty of ways to improve
on the processing and I intend to do so once I see what their print order looks like. I used only one 20D body and a 24-70 2.8 Lens, which created some challenges in terms of creating variety, but the couple is happy with the results.

I was thinking about doing the same thing because the only pics we have are from our wedding. Very cute. Their faces look a little OOF in the last one, though. The first is my fav. :)

Great photos. I wonder if the photo with the dog could have been taken at a little lower angle, possibly making the faces look a little better. It seems to me that when I shoot above eye level on a shot like this I get strange line from the chin and neck. Just a thought.

I really like the casual shot of the couple kissing, the placement of the ring hand showing off that rock was a super idea.

jessiper: yep, the faces are a tad oof in that one. I was shooting the dog head-on & close-up at 2.8 w/ the couple kissing in the background and I didn't bump my fstop up enough when I backed up to shoot the whole scene. My bad.

Chris & Jess: Thanks.

Banbert: Thanks also!

Lindsi: Outside the museum of fine art, they've set up a bunch of large photographs, like bus stops, to hide some construction. The red one is a gaint picture of a tail-light with a street refelcted in it and I thought we might as well try to create something interesting with it.

schastain: I shot from higher and lower, and the reason this one made it is because it' the best one of the dog! Her head (and body) moved around constantly, so this is one where I was able to get her had pointed in my direction.

We shot in multiple park location in the span of about 70 minutes. The couple got what they wanted and it was a great learning experience for me since it was my first engagement style shoot.
