Are there Grey Market 550EX's?

I am seeing a lot of 550EX's on EBAY for just over $300. I was thinking of selling my 540EZ and getting the 550EX. I was just wondering if there were grey market flashes. If so, anyone have any opinions or experiences with these grey market flashes?

received in brand new, unopened box...works perfectly and is identical to the $300+ 550 ex i bought from B&H photo...

I bought Canon 550ex USA verson. A close friend bought a Sigma 500 Supra. Its a 550ex clone for a lot less than Canon grey market. He is pleased and I am envious.

Can you use the SIGMA 500 supra with the 550EX via the wireless master/slave operation?

i'm not going to revisit this...there's a whole thread regarding this issue...

i couldn't make the 500 super whatever work for me...although there IS somebody here who posted a whole gallery of shots he took with the sigma flash...looked pretty good to me...

although i just buy the best when i can afford it, etc...even if it is unnecessarily expensive...that way i need never worry about how much better IS that name brand thingy...i have a suspicion that since you've already become accustomed to the canon flash, anything else would be a step down...

(ok so maybe i'm a canon snob :)

Yes you can. I bought a 500 Super instead of a 430EX to use as a slave. It's very simillar to my 550EX. The Autofocus light only works when the center focus point is selected, other than that, it's very simillar to the 550EX.

I believe that even the 430EX does not support all the focus points!
