View Full Version : What Parameters with RAW?

Hi,
Until recently I've shot large Jpeg with my 10D. For the best out-of-camera images, I've used custom parameters (+1 Contrast, +2 Sharpness, +2 Saturation and +0 Color Tone).
However, now that I'm shooting RAW, do you think that I should use the standard settings of +0 on everything and adjust as needed during RAW conversion or is it ok to use the settings above?
Any input is greatly appreciated.
Thank you.

In camera parameters will only be applied to the embedded jpg thumbnail used for LCD preview and the histogram display. In other words, parameters have nothing to do with final output of a raw file. DPP can apply the in camera settings, but you still have the ability to change things.

Thank you for the clarification. That will work out well in case I want to change back to Jpeg for snapshots, Email pics, etc, since I won't need to change parameters back and forth.
Thanks again.
