hehehe ;) i know i have used too high aperture i will try on f4.5/5.6 and try to blur out the background. Plus the lighting is very crap... there are few unwanted reflections and also you can see that its photographed on paper :(

There was a thread very recently about shooting subjects like that. I'll have to see if I can find it again -- you'd find it very helpful.

I think these are a nice start. The thing that bugs me about the first two is that I don't have a sense of what the object is resting on, so they're left almost floating, and don't appear natural to me as a result.

Keep at it -- and I'll go look for the other thread now.

Here it is: http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=218885&highlight=reflector

He avoids the "floating" feeling with a piece of glass as a reflector under the subject. Hope this helps you!

im soo pleased with my 400d... the quality is just a-m-a-z-i-n-g compared to my old Fuji S7000... on 100% crop it still looks sharp!

P.S i know that big lamp should be moved out of the frame... il try again sometime

the first portrait by a mile. the second one is ruined by the flash. for the second id suggest looking at the centre of your lens in the mirror :)
