This is my first post, sorry if I break any forum rules.

There was another similar thread a little while ago but
because this post is a possible problem resolution I'm
afraid it can be lost in an old thread.

I just encountered "Err 02" problem on my Digital Rebel. This problem is a CF poblem and indeed there were a few images on a card that were corrupted somehow. Every time when I tried to view these images on camera "Err 02" was shown.

When camera is connected to a computer client software (Canon USB driver?) tries to read all images from a card and when some of them are corrupted the whole communication session fails.

To avoid this behaviour I marked all images but corrupted as protected and then run "erase all" operation on a camera. It surprisingly succeeded. After this simple trick all corrupted images were removed and the rest was easily transferred to the computer.

I hope it may help to somebody else with a similar problem.

Thanks for the tip.

Be sure to run ScanDisk or other disk diagnostic tool on your CF card to be sure you will have trouble free shooting in the future. Run the "thorough" option if you use ScanDisk. Check back with the Forum if your CF card has problems. There are others here far more savvy on this topic than me.

What if none of this works. New cards formatted no bent pins, it still reads ERR02
