This is my first post, sorry if I break any forum rules.
There was another similar thread a little while ago but
because this post is a possible problem resolution I'm
afraid it can be lost in an old thread.
I just encountered "Err 02" problem on my Digital Rebel. This problem is a CF poblem and indeed there were a few images on a card that were corrupted somehow. Every time when I tried to view these images on camera "Err 02" was shown.
When camera is connected to a computer client software (Canon USB driver?) tries to read all images from a card and when some of them are corrupted the whole communication session fails.
To avoid this behaviour I marked all images but corrupted as protected and then run "erase all" operation on a camera. It surprisingly succeeded. After this simple trick all corrupted images were removed and the rest was easily transferred to the computer.
I hope it may help to somebody else with a similar problem.
