Thx to all for feedback. I apologize for all the posts but I am really using the A70 a lot and am looking for some help in order to really understand all its options.

Here's the dilemma. Today I took several flash shots in aperture priority mode. I noted the shutter speed chosen by this mode. The shot seemed OK. But when I switched to manual mode and dialed in the exact same aperture and shutter speed used in aperture priority mode, the camera gave me the red -1 1/2 warning, which means I am underexposed by 1.5 stops. How can this be?

thx

Did you have the flash turned on?
Did you have the correct flash power set?

Thx for the reply...yes, I double-checked everything, incl. the flash power...which was at full. And it was turned on. I think I will reset the entire system to factory defaults and try again...don't know what else to do.

thx

The camera will measure available light when measuring in manual. It will not add in the potential flash output.

Nothing is wrong with your camera.
