I took this photograph, without any filters, in the morning at about 7am with the sun rising on the left but hidden behind a lot of clouds. Is the blueish color typical of the effects of the lighting conditions in the mornings? :eyes

I tried to set up a link directly to the particular photograph but I don't seem to be able to do it right and I can't quite clearly understand the 'Help' instructions above. The file name is "20031228_0005.jpg". Can anyone suggest what I might be missing in the url above?

I like the sky line and the detail in the buildings. I think the foreground is helpful but I'm not sure if there is enough, too much or if that line is quite right. There appears to be a blue cast to the photograph or is it an accurate portrayal to you? If you look at the water's edge the foam is a bit purple/blue.

Anyway, interesting subject - I'd be pleased if it were mine!

Hi Martin,

I agree with your thoughts on the foreground, as I was not quite able to do much about it, due to the fact I had to get a "sideway" shot at the skyline. I think I had a "less cluttered" composition with this other shot I have in my same collection.

I did some (huh, a lot!!! Its a digital camera, not film...) bracketing for the exposures to get the details to come out right. I just wish I can stop down more than the f/8.

Thanks for the example to get the photograph to load and that very encouraging last comment too!!
