Hi all,,,
I am wondering regarding a difference between the aluminum lensmate adaptor and the canon plastic one..
I read somewhere...cant remember,,that the aluminum bayonet might actually erode through the attaching point on the lens or filter,,therefore, it recommends to use the canon plastic adaptor. I am not sure of this...has any one had any troubles with this....because I want to get the 52 mm, which canon doesnot make, but I am a bit worried about the above point.
Thanks for your help.

I read same reports prior to my purchase of the LensMate 52 mm adapter 5-6 months ago. I have had no problems with it, and prefer it over the Canon 58 mm plastic adapter which I also have. I leave my adapter on all the time, which one contributor to an earlier thread on this topic suggested would reduce the risk of damage.

I accidentally dropped my G3 while getting it snagged in a storm door. It fell six feet onto hard concrete and hit the aluminum 52mm Lensmate adapter. It survived with no problems. Without that hard adapter, I would have ruined my zoom lens on the G3.

Were you using a neck strap, or just carrying the camera?
