Oh my it's been a few weeks. I have been taking pictures, just haven't gotten around to posting them all here. The other day I attempted to experiment with somethign I have very little experience with, I attached a reversed 50mm f/1.8 conveniently inside of the Sigma 105mm Macro screw-on hood. It fit snug, and I could screw it on whenever I wanted. The magnification was AWESOME. At 1:1 I can see about 22mm, when I shot a ruler in my kitchen with the 50 infront of the sigma, I was getting about 8mm full-frame. Thats a bit over 2:1 I believe. One problem, I have about ZERO depth of field :P. Almost all of my shots with the set-up where taken at HIGH ISO and flash, just so I could get relatively good DOF at f/22, which I do say so myself the Sigma performs VERY well!

Anyways, nuff talk, heres the shots :D

Holy crap !! I could use that DoF to shave with.

Very impressed with the coloring... even regardless of your setup which is pretty keen BTW.

Excellent Shots- great detail- esp at F22.
Assume it's an orb web spider.

more like 3:1 I would think, like the last shot with more in focus.

Nice! How did you get the spider not to move? Because with a DOF like that I cant imagine trying to focus on a live spide from 22mm away.

Hehehe thanks guys :D I have no idea what magnification the reversed 50 would give me, I just know it was ALOT more than my vanilla sigma 105 :P However, I do get vignetting and odd, circular OOF area near the edges. I should post a 100% crop, because it was still DAMN sharp and the detail on the spiders face was awesome :D

Thanks for all the kind comments!
