I have on my list these among others:
- user upload of course
- e-cards
- database relations integrity checker (had one with 1.5 but not complete).
- when an editor task is finished, stop messages window refresh
- EE CMS: add content page - EE makes it a link, adds page id and a paragraph editor (most of the code is ready, just needs time)
- html export (has to be completely rewritten in 2.0)
- when virtual exhibitions are updated, custom photo order (authors order) is lost. There should be at least a preset author order setting in virtual exhibitions.
- shadows are now missing, of course they could be added to photo template but...
- convert virtual exhibition to normal (easy coding)
- convert normal exhibition to virtual (very easy coding or very hard coding depending on how it is done)
- a dedicated page for photographers
- a way to change filenames for a photo
- cache translations to database (less includes is good)
- add shutter speed limits to virtual exhibitions
- more styles

I would like to have ;-)
-a small gamma chart (calibrated picture or code), perhaps in the header, so as to make vistors and myself aware that the monitor should have a correct brightness/contrast setting in order to view the photos in a quality and style that the photographer intentend...
-a small thumbnail(s) beside each photo of the equipment, and perhaps of the photographer too, used in this specific photo... this is because i use many differnet lenses and such a feature would provide a quick glance.
- otherwise i'm quite happy with EE2 as it is...
...but others have some good ideas too !?

> database relations integrity checker
Please do not do this at the application level ;)
Simply declaring the foreign keys in InnoDB will ensure integrity.
For those who use MyISAM, there are no guarantees about anything anyway, so why bother ?

doesnt seem like anyone has mentioned this but i wouldnt mind having
- sftp support
My web server does not allow ftp protocol.
Edit -
Just noticed a setting in settings.php file - s_ssl_ftp = "0";
however, just before it, in BIG letters i read "Probably does not work"
Does it or?

That setting is not for SFTP, that is for FTPS. My guess is that it does not work anyways :)
Writing SFTP protocol to PHP is not easy, but that is on todo list.

- a way to change filenames for a photo
At the moment I am re-processing some of my photos and doing so I am also renaming the photos because I in addition to giving them a name like lionportrait I am adding the original filename at the end so the filename is changed from lionportrait.jpg to lionportrait_IMG1012.jpg.
Now this means there is no one-step way of replacing the photo in the gallery as far as I can tell so this is the process I am going through for each photo:
- reprocess photo obviously ;)
- upload photo to the normal folder
- edit photo with photo editor and use the new filename box to change to the new photo
- rethumb for the new photo
- update size info
- re-import exif information because in the past I have used save for web which strips exif info. I have now started to use save as to keep the exif info.
This is a lot of steps and I will eventually also have a cleaning up step to do because the old photo is still there. Its not an issue at the moment but at some point in time it will start to annoy me and I want to cleanup duplicate photos.
Just an idea for future.

I don't check comments and ratings every day or even weekly. Email notification when people leave comments or have questions would be nice to have, if possible.

Greeting cards, electronic ones, in the case of EE2 with your own photos :-)

With the increase of on-line bookmarking a way to add links to on-line bookmarks (FaceBook, Digg, etc.)
I vote for ecards too!
Someone mentioned a blog - I am playing around with http://nucleuscms.org (http://nucleuscms.org/) - it is quite good, powerful and easy to use
Lightbox - I know this is pushing it.
