Cool shot. The fact that the car is there, as a 'ghost' almost is wicked. I like it...one nit, though, is I wish the verticals were more 'straight.' Other than that, definately a nice use os shutter speed.

Look in the back, i had to brake not to hit the pole.

That's an interesting shot. Someone else posted a shot of a "missing train" & you came up with a missing car. I wonder what's next? :D

sync your flash with the curtan closing. Then you will she a solid car with lights straming off of it. that would be a cool one for you to get next.

Or have your friend pop an Off Camera flash when the car has almost stopped at the end of the shot.

As long as he stays behind the flash and walks at a normal walking pace; he won't show up in a 13-15 sec exposure.

How would i sync my flash or make it pop at the end of the scene? I only have the built in flash.

Not sure if you have it on the XT. Search the manual for "Second curtain synch"

I cant find the website with the example I'm looking for; but here's one I did find. Look lear the bottom of the 2 pix of the same moving car. Notice how the car is at either the beginning or end of the light trail depending on when the flash is fired.

First curtain means the flash is fired as soon as the shutter opens, Rear or second curtain synch means the shutter is opened, and right before it closes the flash is fired

Hope it helps!

Since you're open to suggestions; here's another site that I gleaned a lot of good info from.

http://www.lostamerica.com/

He has changed his techniques page a little; it used to really drive home the point that you don't need fancy flashes for this sort of photography; an old battletank of a flash unit is more than enough. The flashes in these shots were poppen manually and not camera mounted.

Hope this gives you many more ideas!

Would've looked a little better if you started back more so you couldn't see where the car exactly started from. Then just to see the light trails.
