Bottom line:

---

i9100 Prints at 4800dpi
S9000 Prints at 2400dpi

Result = i9100 produces smoother output, but not so much that you would notice at all. Scores tied.

---

i9100 Prints borderless to A3+
S9000 Doesn't, but does smaller sizes (A3, A4 etc.) borderless

Result = If you need A3+ borderless, then the i9100 is for you. Scores, 1-nil to the i9100

---

i9100 Costs £365 at Dabs, but can be had for around £340 in the UK.
S9000 Costs £199 from PCWorld (£340 at Dabs !!)

Result = S9000 is a bargain from PCWorld. Scores 1-1.

---

So, if you need borderless A3+ then don't buy the S9000 otherwise you are laughing. Don't worry about the difference in resolution in printing. You won't know any difference over the i9100.

I think the S9000 is being discontinued in the UK, e.g. Amazon already list it as so. Therefore I assume PCWorld are clearing old stock bought up in bulk.

Even so, I would go for it. There won't be any problems getting cartridges for it as the i9100, i950 and i965 use them (IIRC).

Cheers

Ian

I bought the s9000 about two months ago because it was such a bargain. The local Canon rep told me that I'd be wasting my money if I bought the s9100. So far I've been very happy with it. I only use to print photos.
