View Full Version : A first shot at hockey.....

Had some time to kill on Saturday morning before the rugby started, so popped in to the hockey club whilst I was passing.

First attempt at shooting hockey and as gmen mentions in his post, I found the different patterns of play a little strange at first. Still, practice makes perfect!!

Comments etc more than welcome, think I need all the help I can get on this one!!

Still can't make my mind up on the cropping of this one and whether to leave the opposing player in or not. Either seems to work ok, cropping the player out does leave a random stick in the photo though!!

"How about a hug?" This was shortly before the referee decided that he didn't want to discuss the finer points of the game in fluent anglo-saxon and sent the chap off to the sin-bin!

Thank you - as for no ice, well, does it count if I was cold on the sides? Might even have been ice on my nose?!:D

Nice shots - having played and umpired (no referees in field hockey), I know how fast the game moves. IMHO these are good shots. I agree with your point about the crop in shot 2 - you'd leave something of the player behind him in, so for me, the picture as it is works.
