This bear was having a ball...he was (it appeared) playing with his foot in the pool. (I should have waited until they were edited to post them but...it was so funny I wanted to share)

He must have seen us but it didn't ruin his fun

He was rolling around here, grabbing his offending hind foot...

and here, he'd caught his foot, didn't know what to do with it, let it go and started making noise like he was laughing...totally victorious in his quest :)

Nice. The bear has that dopey demeanor like......like he was image stabilized with Gravol (a.k.a. "The Sarnia IS Method").

Either that or he was taking a page out of MDJAK's book and having a nyquil berserker ;)

Hmm....you seem to be rather new here, with a post count overdrive.... Dr. Jakov does not imbibe. Plus, he can get all the morphine he needs....legally thru his (mal)practice. He does have a hyperactive imagination though. He knows how to use his funny-putzy humour to kick Dante at al. back into their place. Mark is a man of letters and not of liqueur.:D

I see what might be one problem here.......the tupperware party random rambling threads.
At any rate, I think this forum might become your home base now.:)

Well, I've definitely become fond of this forum and it's twisted inhabitants ;)

Thank you. We had force-fed our daughter many european commodities before dispatching her to Europe to school (one year).
Now, she is your age, I presume...but the Asterix has stayed with me.

doubt that....I've raised two of my own to the government authorized (motherhood debated) adulthood (21 & 19)...it's only my humor that's "stunted"

Great shots, and funny story line to go with it.

If Pet-Kal is your dad, he must be my grandfather and Ronald's great grandfather

Excellent shots, the bear's certainly enjoying life. Lucky you caught him and not the other way round.

Were these shots taken in the wild ? Or at a Zoo..either way. He loooks so sweet, UNTIL you get closer to him...:)

It's not a zoo and not the wilderness either. Kind of a cross btw. the two. It's a wilderness trek where the preditors do have confines but the confines are huge and almost unseen. The herbivores have no boundaries except the edge of the sanctuary.

oh he looks so cuddly!

Permagrin

Yes, he did! Until he started tearing that log in the water apart with apparent ease...the brute strength under all that playfulness is absolutely amazing. (But he was so funny, in his enjoyment of the water....) :)

Fantastic shots - love that great big head in the first one. He's obviously an exhibitionist, reminds me of the bear in the Jungle Book! :D

Looking at that bear reminds you why they make teddybears so cute and cuddly. It just looks like it is having so much fun with out a care in the world. You wonder why they aren't kept as pets so you can hug them or something. Then you remember, oh yeah, cause they weigh about a ton and stand close to 10 feet tall.

Nice shots.

They look so cute and cuddly...until you look into the eyes....suddenly you see there is something not so fun lurking there. Interesting shots Permie!
