My current playlist is shuffling through the following bands:

Jack's Mannequin

25GBs worth of music, and this is the only thing I listen to.

So what are you listening to right now!?!?!?

The new Killers CD? If so, how is that?

I have the Panic! at the Disco CD in my car. I like it, but it's too short.

I'm undecided as well...Any has fantastic vocal range and her training in classical music shines thru at times. Not sure the rest of the band is holding up to the same standard. Fallen was such an incredible album...that it is going to be a very tough act to follow. Not having Ben Moody messed up some chemistry too.

As someone who rarely finds anything to enjoy in todays music (new to me is Dave matthews) I can agree with this 1000%! Not since Carly Simon has there been a voice this mesmerizing IMHO. Some of there songs I would have no interest in at all if sung by anyone else.

My Ipod spends a lot of Time with "Dave"
Dave Matthews, and David Bowie,
Peter Gabriel, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Leadbelly,
Moby, Carly Simon, earlier 10,000 maniacs,
Kate Bush (post Peter Gabriel) Sade, Janis,
Deep Purple, Ozzy (with Randy Rhoades especially) ACDC
Earlier Bare Naked L:adies (haven't warmed up to anything since before "Gordon" )
Newfoundlands own "Great Big Sea"
and a fair mix of Beethoven, Mozart and Puccini.

Dido
Norah Jones
Paula Cole
Sarah McLachlan
Carly Simon
Katie Melua
Toby Lightman
Nya Jade

Regina Spektor
Corinne Bailey Rae
Sonya Kitchell

This will all change in the next few weeks as my mood and interests change.

you should, her background is actually quite interetesting and it is quite unique in today's "rock" bands. also, i agree about only listening to the songs for her voice. i can honestly say that there are many songs which i hate but i still listen too because of her voice :)

I was hooked the first time I heard that song. Then I saw her do it live....I don't recall ever seeing a crowd so enthralled as they were during that number...lots of people were actually crying...and darn near everyone was singing along. Was a most interesting experience.

3x3 Eyes - Takada Band
Hedwig and the Angry Inch - The Origin of Love

The Fifth Element - Eric Serra - Aknot! Wot?

Reviving this thread ;)

Interesting to see Hedwig and the angry inch mentioned! Love the movie to bits, fantastic soundtrack, I rate it as better than the Rocky Horror Picture Show (another classic I have to admit). Saw Hedwig live in Sydney a year ago and wow! For those that know the movie etc, the lady next to me was nearly picked for the classic car wash scene.

I've been known to listen to:

Bruce Springsteen (huge fan)
Mary Black - CDS - check her music out, you'll probably like it as she has a lovely voice
The Corrs - Andrea is soooo HOT
Nick Cave and the bad seeds
Christy Moore - very political, lovely husky voice, great live performer!
Bif Naked - her album I Bificus is a classic imho - very raw and powerful but gentle
Peter Wolf - wonderful musician, vastly underated

My Creative Zen M60 has 45gb of music on it already ;) I'm also known to listen to a variety of music on my hi fi setup - it's probably worth more than the vast majority of people's photography kit on POTN :)

Dave

edit: I forgot to mention my other favourite soundtracks:

The 9th gate and Bram Stoker's Dracula by Wocjciek Kilar - wondeful composer, reminds me very much of Dvorak in a lot of ways. And how can one not include the soundtrack to Star Wars!

Listen to these groups on my list Izak. Depeche Mode and New Order are great bands from the New Wave era. I don't get tired of listening to them. I also have seen Air and Thievery live quite a few times.

To add to my list:
Chemical Brothers
The Orb
Portishead
Keane
The Ballistic Brothers
DJ Q
Josh Wink

I'm not big on popular too much. It gets kind of redundant. So I listen to the underground dance, lounge, electronica movement.
