Does anyone know if canon is updating their camera software to include being able to read 16 bit tiff files? It may seem funny, but for the most part I actually like the Canon software. But then again, I'm not a pro photographer either...lol. But I shoot raw, and it would be nice if the software could save my raw files to 16 bit tiff if I wanted.

Thanks,
David

With the Canon RAW converter, you can convert your RAW files to either 8-bit JPG, 8-bit TIFF or 16-bit TIFF. I don't remember exactly where you have to change the setting, because I'm not using the Canon software....

What camera are you using? Different Canon cameras sometimes come with different software. My brother's old PowerShot S40 came with different RAW conversion software than my PowerShot G3 and my EOS 10D.

ZB will display Raw and the formats you mention.

Directly in ZB you can select View & Modify > Process RAW Images and process RAW images in the File Viewer Utility (FVU) and/or convert them to 8 or 16 TIFs and/or JPEGs.

From Start > All Programs > Canon > Canon Utilities you can open FVU direct and manage, process and/or convert your RAW images.

The latest version of ZB is 4.5.1.148, latest FVU is 1.3.2.11
