Canon Speedlite 540EZ

I just recently got a Canon 30D. My wife has a Canon Speedlite 540EZ from her Canon EOS. Iv'e put the flash on my 30D and I can hear it moving when I zoom but it doesn't fire with the shutter. Will it work with my 30D?

You might get it to work in manual mode. It's not designed to work with the E-TTL flash metering systems of digital cameras.

For a more useable flash unit you'll need to update to an EX series Speedlite or aftermarket equivalent.
