How to remove red eyes?

I am new to digital photos. I just took some pics with my sd100 and a couple of the pics had red eyes. Is there a way to remove the red in the eyes after you have taken the picture?

there're so many software offer red eye removal.. like this one http://www.vicman.net/redeye/ . or manually replace color using image editor..

I periodically just paint out the red eye. Magnify the image and use a small enough brush with a feathered edge to easily remove the colours, but retain any highlights in the eyes.

There are many 'auto' programs or features in graphics programs, but like any 'automatic' feature, they won't work 100% all the time.

This picture of our dog has had the green 'red eye' manually painted out.
