Why?

You're too much! I shoulda guessed this would happen shortly after the forum came back up.

ilya

for precisely the reason Jim just said

Why would a moderator have need to take a poll?

This was created for OUR benefit.

You don't have to answer a poll if you don't want to. Just like you don't have to look at another 10D conspiracy thread if you don't want to. Its the same.

How about a poll about a petition?

Or a petition about a poll :eyes (that denotes regrets for any possible bad karma caused on this gleeful occasion)

First let's have a poll on polls to see if we should have polls. And then if we can't have polls then we can start a petition. But, should we first start a petition about the polls, or a poll about the petitions?

And then what do we do if we can't have polls or petitions? Start a country?

I think we should have a survey on polls and then petition the pollisters that took the survey about the polls to see if petitions are pollable.

Let me re-read that....yadda....yadda...yadda

Yup, that looks right

Here's a few more generations..
Have a poll to determine in fact if the poll that is surveyed and the survey that is polled on the poll that polls to see if the petitions are pollable.

Try saying that a few times fast!

I'd join you (with permission of course) but there is an ocean stopping me and no way to get there in a hurry. The fastest way, about 3 hrs across the ocean is no more. Yes that was Concorde.

Have you considered therapy? You're coming apart on us over this airplane. It's sad to watch.

Be brave. Someday you will again be able to fly commercially at speeds faster than sound.

I can always run up to Boeing Field and take a picture of it. Three hours and I'm there! Which reminds me, I do need to do that sometime soon.

Tom,
I have made a bigger deal than I should have over it, but it was an icon of sort and if you were over here to see it, it would make more sense. 24 Oct 03 was the last commercial flight and I was at Heathrow to see it firsthand, but from what I saw later was a lot of the channels here cut to the final landings of it. Maybe it is just an over here thing. There were more than 300,000 there on 24 Oct 03.

Therapy will not be necessary! Enough about that. I was being funny in that I couldn't get over there in any short amount of time. It is about 7-8 hrs subsonic, and that was what I was joking about. We have beat the crap out of an already dead horse! Enough said.

Keep up the good work.

I have also become more British in my sense of humour and it is very subtle. You really have to be looking and thinking, constantly. They call this very dry humour. However once you get it, it is truely a riot! I'm sure this won't be the last flaming I get. <<as I step out of the furnace>>
I get mistaken a lot of the time too and all I'm after is a laugh. Oh well, I just don't want to make the furnace my home...been there, done that. They also call it Tucson, Az. :)

I believe that someone already did - well, at least the horse's feet.

Source: http://www.tigersweat.com/movies/animal/ web site devoted to the movie, "Animal House". Scene is when the horse had a heart attack in Dean Werner's office. Worker shown is measuring the dead horse for eventual removal. Great, classic film. :D

msnow,
I hate to break it to you, but of how many people are registered here (i believe in the order of thousands, if not 10 thousands), there has to be at least one "I'm an a-hole, and expect these things to happen!"
kinda person statistically. I am not condoning it and I would like to find out who that was too, but the reality is that it probably won't happen w/o help from Pekka, the Forum God. Even then, it is doubtful he would release the info. I don't like it any more than the next person. I can only hope that Pekka takes it with a grain of salt. Any which way you put it, the overwhelming consensus is that this forum and the revision rocks! I am one that will say that I casted for the unfreaking believeable vote that it rocks, choice 1.
