Hello all. Spent the weekend at the track and was lucky enough to bum a ride in teh red and silver Super 7, the silver Exige, and the light green Elise. It was a blast. Here are some of the pics. The gallery is still being added to and is here http://rlbimages.smugmug.com/Great%20Lakes%20Lotus%20at%20Grattan
Shots taken with a Sigma 70-300 f/4-5.6 APO DG

1. This is the Exige I rode in. Advanced driver, very quick.

2. Another of the same Exige

3. The passenger is the 14 year old son of the driver.

4. Here is that car getting hairy in a series of turns.

5. Here is another guy doing the exact same thing in teh exact same spot. Very amusing. Notice the license plate.

6. This is the green elise I rode in to finish the day. We were the last car on the track and had it to ourselves.

7. This is the Super 7 I rode in. The most insane car ride I've ever been on =)

8. This gentleman brought a Ford GT along with his Elise. I guess last year he brought his Porsche Carrera GT. I was told he has about 30 cars in his collection. He was crushed when I informed him Schumacher blew up in Japan.

Sadly no, as you can imagine the GT's passenger seat was never empty. I was not a ranking passenger for that car :) He drove that car ~2.5 hours from outside Detroit. I can only imagine the looks that thing gets, especially painted in faux Gulf livery.

What are the red and orange strips on the wheel arches of the Exiges and Elise by the way?

He's missing the Gulf emblems, double horseshoes, and the Gurney bobble. :)

Very nice. Looks like the guys in 4 and 5 are experiencing 'terminal oversteer'. Love those cars, sad I had to sell mine.

They may be afterthoughts. They're required by law over here. Our DOT has a long history of making eurocars look goofy.

Love the car shots. If I could pick one for my own garage it would be the Super 7.
