I'm going to Houston next week.
Does anybody know of any good shop for photographic equipment, new and used, in that area?
Thanks!

There are two pretty extensively stocked ones. The largest is Houston Camera Exchange on Richmond at Fountainview. West of the 610 loop a few miles. The other is Houston Camera Coop at 801 Durham just south of I-10. Durham is the southbound one-way street one block west of Shepherd. If you are looking for something particular, I'd call to see if they have it in stock as while both carry large stock, they might not have everything.

Also, keep in mind that Houston has an 8.25% sales tax, so factor that in on any potential purchase. The quoted price will not include it--it is added at the time of purchase.

Thanks a lot Al, for the useful information and the nice offer of you calling them! :)
But that's ok, I am not looking for anything in particular, but I am sure I'll find something! :D

Edit: I just saw the list of film cameras in your signature, and I have now taken off my hat while writing to you! :)

Well, I've been at this for a long time as you probably can tell. Just have had the 5D for a couple of weeks, so I'm back to square one in the learning curve.
Why did you take off you hat?

Why did you take off you hat?

In the past, there was the habit, at least here, to take off your hat to show respect to someone.

Was it a Borsolino?

It's a hat.
We all wear them in Italy...
