Just found out we're going to have a baby!

I've been reluctant to post this, as its not photo related (Oh! but it is. There will be so many pictures, I'm sure!), but after our cruise, which I think the total count of photos taken is near 1000, My wife took a test and found out she is pregnant. :)

So starts a new chapter in my life, and so goes my lens budget ;) Oh well, I have most of what I need, anyway, and will be getting the rest of my budget lighting setup soon, which will come in extra handy eventually.

Of coruse, I've been beating myself up over the fact that I've spent so much on camera gear instead of saving every penny. My wife reminded me that the camera is a good thing, as it will get a lot of use.

Hmmm.... I did make it photography related. :) and I'll do my best not to flood the forums with baby pictures when he or she arrives ;)

Congrats, your shutter will wear out so much quicker! Just tell your wife you need good quality lenses to do justice to your baby!

Heh, she understands the lens argument now, I think. As well as my current crazy fixation with lighting.

She wants a DSLR for herself now, we can share our pool of lenses, I think. But this was before the big news. Maybe I can save a bit and make that happen eventually.

Congratulations, but I do want to hold out a ray of hope. The above poster is not 100% correct. Yes, you will be able to afford new lenses, once the beastie is out of college. But think of it this way, the next time you will have the spare cash to dump into photography, Canon will be offering the new 3d holographic, time traveling, super fast, no noise EOS 90D with L glass standard and you will be able to fold space back and get all of the pics you missed.:) :) :) :) :)

Congrats. You're in for some photographic fun. Babies are a blast to photograph. We just had our first grandchild in June, and I've been having lots of fun with photos.
