I really love telephoto lenses for both getting that close shot from far away, but also for a lesser used (at least i think so) close up. I think it gives the shot a certain amount of intamacy, this was taken at about 200mm from 8-10 feet away...its my girlfriend, i personally love it but just wanted everyone elses opinion.

I don't think this apporach does her justice. Most of her face is obscured.

I think I know what you were going for with this... but your focus of the shot is concentrated too much on her forehead and not the eyes... you can still have a good shot focused on the eyes even if the person is not looking at the camera. Point the camera down a little more to crop out more of the forehead.

I think you make a good point, i showed the picture to my girlfriend and she said "My forehead!"

I would agree with the suggestion to reduce the forehead, and add that if you moved a bit to the left so we could see her other eye, I would prefer it. You could also move down just a bit, so we could actually see her eyes rather than just her eye lids.
