Stand back from the sales counter! Don't touch this drive. It has serious problems. Stick with Hitachi or IBM microdrives only, if buying a microdrive. I haven't read anything good regarding these drives. They need to be pulled from the market.

Thanks Jim! I thought almost the same!

You're welcome Peter. People have had nothing but problems with this drive. Not to mention that 2.2 gigs is kind of overkill. Get 2 1gig drives instead. Or even 4 512s. I do like 1gig drives when I'm shooting sports though...

is there any particular benefit to using a micro drive over a CF card?
i use 2 1G cards and haven't run out of storage on a shoot yet. on top of that, they're not so delicate. so why use a micro drive?

Microdrives are now a lot cheaper than CF cards in the same size. I'm currently thinking of buying an X Drive or something. MD are really slow if they getting full! so I think I will get an X drive and and additional 512 MB Cf card!

The advantage of an MD is lower cost,. but the cost difference is a lot less than it used to be,. so ther advantage is minimalised these days. A good 1 gig CF can be had for about $200.00
