I have a Tamron AF28-300/3.5-6.3 XR Di LD lens. I know it's not a great lens but better than nothing. Anyway, I have not used it in a while but recently put it on my new 30d and found it is not auto-focusing properly. It shifts back an forth and when it finally stops and I get the "beep" saying it's done focusing, it's still out of focus. My question is, are there any know issues with this lens and the 30D? It worked fine with my old D60 (which I don't have anymore to try the lens on) Is it possible something happened from it just sitting?
With all that said, what would be a good replacement without going bankrupt.(LOL)

Thanks

I was just going to post about this. I seem to be having the same problem with my Tamron 28-75 2.8. The exact same problem. I am afraid I'm going to have to send it in. Would love to hear if anyone else had/has the same problem.
