i think this camera deliver as good pics as 10d or 300d and it can be a good opportunity to get a used one at a good price

No argument here.

The prices for used D60's that I've been following on eBay (Germany) tend to be a little higher (100-200 USD) than the price for a new 300D.
This - of course - might make a lot of sense for someone who needs the added flexibility but doesn't want to spend as much as for a 10D. I've seen virtually no used 10D's on eBay.
Regards,
Andy

It certainly is. Any equipment in the right hands makes all the difference in the world to the final output.

Absolutely nothing wrong with a D60. It is/was and will always be a great camera. In 10 years it will take EXACTLY the same pictures it is taking today. No matter what new camera is released will have any effect whatsoever on the quality of photos it takes.

Up to date to do what, take pictures? Sure. It can't make you coffee though if that is what you are looking for.
I would say if you have to ask this question I would wonder what exactly are you looking for any camera to do. It can help you take pictures like a brand new camera off the lines yesterday, and like an excellent conditioned one from the 60s.

Just my 2c. I read an article about sports photography today from a recent Popular Photography or Shutterbug. The one about covering an NFL game. The author stated that the autofocus on the D60 was too slow for sports.

Untrue. It sounds like a spoiled photographer who can't adapt to the equipment. Sure it's no 1D, but if he cant shoot some decent sports shots with it, then he shouldn't be behind the lens.
One of CART's top photographers was shooting with two D60's last season. He doesn't miss shots. Nuff said at 230 miles per hour.

It depends on the lighting condition. The autofocus speed of D60 is much slower than 10D in low light.

Yes that is true. But most sports are held in well lit, or sunlit areas.

I can still take great pictures with my AE-1 Program, the thing is that its' a bit harder...thats the nice thing with photography technology, you can invest a ton into equipment, but unlike a computer, it's going to last a while as well as hold it's value for quiet some time.

You betchya Timmy. I can never understand why people wring their hands and gnash their teeth when the inevitable happens and their particular camera is discontinued and a new model is released.
Canon could release an 800 megapixel camera tomorrow but it still would not change the quality of photos on our current equipment.

800 megapixel
I dunno, a 793.7 megapixle improvement tomorrow may produce a whine from even i.

Yeah well. Me too. The point is that no matter what they release it does not somehow cripple what you already have.

How many computers (tomorrow) can support a 800MP camera?
However, I missed four words in my previous mail -- I love my D60. Shall we need to say this every night, like what we do to our wives?

You've never watched cricket of football in England, then. :(

;) Nope. But nothing in England is well lit. When the clouds clear here in the Northwest USA I think they all go to England.
