Good catch Cyber, FYI you don't have to go to a compusa, just print the sheet and bring it to your local Best Buy, Office Max, Office Depot, Circuit City, Fry's Electronics etc...and they will match with no limits so buy a fricken pallet full. I got my pallet at Best Buy.

Fuzzleak, This may be true but CompUSA has a better selection. I know, I just spent over 300.00 on paper.

My local Office Depot and Office Max will only accept adds from newspapers or magazines, they will not accept on-line adverts, However, if I go to Compusa first and buy some and then go to Office Depot with the receipt, they will match the offer at that point. It is too easy to forge an on-line offer.

Its important to note that you need to take the page with you to CompUSA to get the deal, and they will not print the page for you. And the Web site says you must print each page and bring it in. Even though the paper deal is on Page 3, I printed all four, 'cause I don't want to be turned away a second time.
Truth be told, CompUSA is not my favorite store. But 50% is 50%, and right now I don't have the time to test the competitive match theory.
Have Fun

Hey Cooltoolguy, yes I know that it's easy to manipulate ads, but my local Office Max, Office Depot, Circuit City, etc.. have online computers on site, so I took the manager over to the computer and have him/her see for themselves and I'm certain they'll match it. And they have. Some peeps don't live close by to a compusa so there are alternatives. Hurry Saturday is coming up.

I usually don't purchase from Best Buy because my neighbor works for the company and he's a jerk.
However... I did see this as an opportunity to save money on photo paper and to have BB lose money on the deal (or at least make a lot less).
Made my day!
Thanks CDS!

Hurry up is right!!! I went 2 Compusa today and they are running low. Spent close to 300 dollars. Bought what Canon Pro paper they have left and a few Epsons but all the better quality paper is almost gone.

My CompUSA here in Atlanta is packed to the gills with paper. I must have been the first one to use the offer
I went in today picked up a box of 4x6, a box of 8.5x11 and 8 packs of 13x19. Some Ilford, but mostly Canon. I went to the register with the flyer, just expecting a little hassle, for some reason... I showed the cashier the flyer and she just looked at me. :? Finally after contemplating the situation she finally asked me which items were photo papers. I showed her that they all were. She picked up the first pack of PR-101, scanned it and looked back me with the blank stare again. :? After another moment of odd silence she said that it scanned at list price, $24.99, so how much would it be with 50 percent off? I quickly did the advanced math, in my head even, and told her it would be $12.50. She manually reduced the price and that's how it went for each item.
It was a really odd experience, but I got my little stash of paper 50% off and everything...

Me too. My casheir asked me what 50% would be, I said $6.25 ( laughing inside ). He started to enter the price X5. Then asked about 50% on the other paper, I continued with the "more than 50%" discount math (to my advantage), until the manager stopped by to see why the line was so slow. They ended up using a calculator to fix my math!!! Darn.

By the time I made it to my local CompUSA store today, they had only one package left of the type I use. However, a savings of $20 is still $20.

The math thing is frighteneing!!! I had the exact expeirience,.. but it gets better. My teller first tried to figure 50% with a calculator,. I could not see what he was inputting so I cna't even imagine hwere he was getting his whacked numbers but HE knoew they were wrong... from that point on he just asked me.. and just like Bubber's Cashier,. the process was unbelievably slow and trncelike! The Check Out Zombies!!!!
It wasn't untill I got hoime that I sow that the kid was so dazed that he did not charge me for two of the packs of paper???

Amazing. I had the same experience. The cashier had to take $38.98 (list) and take off 50% to get a net of $19.49, and then add sales tax to get a total. From what I watched, it took him two minutes of key strokes on a calculator to get the $19.49. Then he had to enter that into the normal cash register terminal to do the sales tax calculation.
I guess that just goes to show what public education produces these days. Geez, I would have been shamed out of the sixth grade if I couldn't do that math in my head in half the time.

So, let us understand. As soon as you got home and saw the error, you rushed right back to the store to point out their mistake so that you could pay them some more money. Right?

Well, I left and realized that one of my packs was charged at full price and I'm not going back, so that's $6.50 credit back to CUSA...

All stories good, or bad.... All I can offer CompUSA is this...

Really, I've worked retail before and I really must say, why should the customer work harder than the retailer to keep from getting ripped off, or make things right?
It would cost me more to take the time to go back and get my $6.50 than to eat it. I could, but I choose not to.
CompUSA could also call me an let me know that they over charged me during my purchase. They have my phone number, but my phone hasn't rang. Where's my phone call? Where's my refund from CompUSA on their dime without my involvement?
(Ok, I'm new here.... Don't hold this against me... :D )

The math was really horrible. I made a point to buy even amounts to make things simpler but it still took close to 15minutes for my cashiers (2 stores) to figure it out.
But now, I've got 300 dollars worth of paper and 400 dollars in ink (for a canon i960 from a previous sale). All I need now is stuff to print. Time to take more pictures. I just hope that the shelf life on these things will be long enough.

Actually the ink wasn't on sale but I got them when Dell had the 20% off all digital accessories. The 20% and not paying CA tax made it worth the purchase. And it was in this forum that I found out about it. Sorry I'll do better next time.

Thanks everyone for advance warning about the likely stumbling blocks to be overcome in cashing in on this deal. My poor clerk had to get help from two other clerks (while the line grew from just me to about 12), key in each discounted purchase, and finally finish off with a flurry of additional keystrokes to complete the ordeal. I wanted to extend my sympathy to the poor guy - and let him know that he's wasn't alone - but I was so happy with cleaning off the shelf of Canon Photo Paper Pro that I just couldn't stop congratulating myself (and thanking everyone else on this thread) :D :)
