Small time thread maybe. But there are people out there like me that keep a speedlite on the shoe and use a pocketwizard to fire a remote slave I'm sure.
What have you rigged up homemade or store bought?
I have a manfrotto flash bracket about the size of a Kia and I want to get inspired on a change.

I would like one of these:

Not cheap, but good stuff rarely is.

That RRS bracket looks like a joke (no offense). Custom Brackets are the way to go. About the same money (maybe a bit less), but phenomenal ergonomics and build quality. Truly deserves a "red ring" somewhere on it.

No offence taken. RRS built and designed it , not me :)
A had a play with a friend's RRS bracket. I was impressed. Untill he demonstrated the bracket on the camera , I could not really see much point to it. I'm converted now.

I don't have two cameras (yet soon to add a 5D *rebates hurry up!*) so I can't take a pic of my entire flash bracket, but the custom bracket I have DOES have a red ring on it, and it deserves it, this thing is AMAZING! nuff said

Mine doubles as my umbrella/speedlite stand and it also helps raise my pocketwizard up to increase range. It's multipurpose, but just too big. I need a small bracket to mount a pocketwizard or a side flash with the shoe cord.
But I like fancy CNC'd stuff and I also like $5 swap meet finds too.
There are some good products in those links guys. Thanks.

Do any of these accept battery grip, too?

Custom Brackets makes an excellent product, but for MY type of grip and usage it was a little on the heavy and bulky side. I ended up going with the Newton Bracket for my 5D & 580ex, camera rotator model:

I believe the one I got is nearly 1/3 the weight of the Custom, and takes up far less space in the bag. Don't get me wrong, the Custom is a fine, solidly built product. I just personally find the Newton to be more compact, lighter and far smaller. Do a search on Newton here and you'll see various threads. - Stu

I'm almost positive the Newton has pieces and parts to allow use of a battery group. They list additional components on the site:

True, it does have a red ring. I thought about that after I posted before. The Customs truly are amazing. I love mine to death. Build quality is unmistakeably "L". That is the exact bracket I have, by the way.

I just got my CB QRS-35-ev.
You just need to get the proper "camera" plate that will accomadate a grip.
My 20D uses the 1d plate and has an extra "foot" to help keep the bracket stable when set down somewhere.
