I'm going to be purchasing a Quantum 4i radio slave kit soon and I noticed that there are a few differences between the ones I've been looking at:

-Quantum 4i 505R vs Quantum 4i 505SRI: what is the difference?
-I've also noticed that the 505R is $349.95 CAD while the 505RSI set is $529.95.

So really, what are the differences? Will it make a big difference if I get the cheaper set?

The 505SRi is a kit with both Sender and Receiver...you need both for a functional radio slave! The 505R is the Receiver only, if you wanted to run more than one slave from a single transmitter. (If you buy extra Receivers later, make sure to match the same Frequency (A-B-C-D) or else the Receiver will not 'hear' the Sender!)

that's odd, because on the Vistek they show both the sender and receiver as the 505R and another sender and receiver as the 505SRI. see!

Typical catalog illustration error, where you see different goods than what you are buying! If you read closely, the 505R page says
"Quantum 505R Radio Slave 4i Remote, Freq.C"
