I've actually had a bit of trouble getting the AF to track objects, although I think it is more due to user error ;) I've never had any AF tracking problems with the 70-200 F/2.8L like I do with this one, but hopefully I can get it sorted soon.

Just bought this lens...I think it is great. Can't wait to try it out in de field...I had the 85mm before Loved it, but HATED!!!! the CA, I also take a lot of pictures of my cats and their whiskers were always green or purple, in bright day light. Then I read about this lens...and when upportunity knocked.....I bought it!!

I've missed this lens so much since switching to Nikon, just sold all of my Nikon gear and a 5D Mk2 is coming this week. 24-105 is first priority and this one is second, probably the most undervalued lens out there.

Are you kidding? That's not a good deal. That's a great deal. But you cant compare ti to the 50. It's obviously 2x the f.l.

I knew what you meant. The IQ on this lens is exceptional, close to an "L". But you won't replace your nifty fifty with this. They are two completely different lenses. I think you would use your 50 for one portrait application. Use the 100 for different effects.

Nice photo's dan! I just got this lens yesterday, it's a bit dustier inside then I'd like it to be, but for $220 I can't complain. It doesn't affect the image (that I've been able to find). This lens is underrated for sure, some amazing bokeh and pretty dang sharp for the price.

If I had the money... I would buy the 135L again in a heartbeat. but the 100 f/2 is fantastic. I find it to be wonderfully sharp. As sharp as the 135L no not many lenses are. But sharper than most lenses at a great price. All my photos above are wide open. The close up of the kitty I believe is slightly OOF because I hit the lenses MFD.

that and the colors and contrast are better on the L obviously. but it doesn't bother me to boost those in PP.
