I've been downloading pics from my G3 to my PC for a year now. Suddenly it doesn't want to. I plug into computer and it recognizes the "new hardware" from Canon. I plug into the PC and the green lite goes on in the camera and the letters PC are on the lcd display on top. I click on Zoombrowser and it says "no camera was found." Have also tried rebooting. Any ideas?

Is it possible you somehow corrupted a driver. I had this problem once on my Windows 2000 machine. I uninstalled all the Canon Software, including the driver software and reinstalled it and it worked fine.
Alternatively, Windows 2000 now supports USB through a add on you can download from the windowsupdate.com website. If you have XP, even better. Just get yourself a compact flash card reader and enjoy.

Worked with Tech support for 45 minutes. They didn't succeed in helping me. Zoombrowser will not see the camera on either of 2 computers ("No Camera Was Found" messagea). I can still upload from camera with MS Scanner & Camera Wizard software. He was puzzled and suggested I send the camera in for repair. I probably will take his advice because I am not able to download firmware should I need another upgrade.

computer problems are always annoying!....
with my old *gasp* olympus i would have the exact same problem just out of the blue. for me the cure was to reinstall the drivers/software, i would download the current set of drivers from the manufacturer website because if you are like me and often get "windows updates" the updates sometimes dont always agree with the software you have.....
so try uninstalling and reinstalling with updated software from canon along with updated drivers....
good luck...hopefully you wont have to send your camera away...ive never found the camera to be the problem.....just little computer gremlins :(
hope that helps.....
