That does it for me! I think it is a lovely shot. I'm not so keen on the framing but then, I generally prefer unframed shots altogether. I also think there's too much background and would try a much tighter crop. The skin detail in the baby is lovely but the eyes are a little spooky! Overall though, the photo speaks about the relationship between father and child, dependence, vulnerability, life.....
Hmmmmm.

Pluses and minuses (my humble opinion only, please take as constructive criticism)
+ Very nice lighting
- Framing detracts from the image. It's a little too much.
- There's something freaky about just the arm showing. Maybe include the parent's face (in profile, just enough for context)

Whatcha Think?
You've take a very striking photo. Like Martin, I'm not usually so keen on unusual framing, but this works for me because of its soft shape, subtle edge, and the texture of the beige background.
To touch on the other comments: I think you need all the black because a child at that age really is in a void (it's amazing how long children are dependent), the eyes are interesting because he or she is staring up (hope, future) into the void, and I believe the supportive arm is enough. I think showing any more of the father would detract from the child.
To me, the photo speaks of yet-to-be-explored space, dependence in a dark world, and the strength of parents to support and guide him.
If anything needs to done, it's to black out whatever dim shape is between the back of the hand and the signature.
Well done!

Incredible photo. I love it when a photograph takes you in and mesmerizes you. This one does that. But the framing severely detracts from the photo. As cool as the framing is, this photo deserves to stand on its own with no distractions. I'd be tempted to frame it in a frameless frame.
Wow! I just really, really like this shot! It says so much.

What do i think?
I think it's an amazing picture, though as stated many times (the more it's stated the more the point is hit home) the framing doesnt go well with this picture.

Lovely, you must be very proud of this shot. It's so difficult to comment on the content of any image as the viewer, brings so much to it. I am envious that this photo clearly, stirs people and provokes different responses. I like that only the adult arm is showing. The anonymity indicates that it is all our responsibity to care for the vulnerable whist the tenderness demonstrates a strong tie between the child and adult...
Ohmygod, I'm rambling.
It's a great shot.

Perfect. Frame it (frameless).
