Here`s a couple of shots of a shoveler duck taken last week in nofolk u.k.
both taken at 500mm iso 400 handheld. the 1st 1/800 sec f.8 and the 2nd 1/1600 sec f.8 expo bias f/1.3(0.67).
These are the 1st pics i have got of shovelers so i`m quite happy with them.
(Until i can get better one`s that is :) ).

Those are very good, in fact I think they are better than these web-sized images could convey.

I particularly like that in-flight shot.....good way/perspective in which to shoot them.
You have also had some nice light on them, eh.

Thanks dennis and Peter for taking the time to comment, and yes Peter they did lose some quality resizing them.
I also like the flight shot and the light was good with the sun behind and to the right of me behind some thin cloud which took some of the harshness out of the light.

Nice ones Pete- you can see where they get their name from!. Lovely inflight shot, the eye really stands out. Nice work.
Regards Alan.

Nice shots - just coming in to their best plummage. Like the flight shot - really gives a different angle on the beak.
