I just read a review for the Digital Rebel at
http://www.digit-life.com/articles2/canoneos300d/index.html
I was shocked to read that "you can't change exposure when shooting in the aperture priority mode"!
Does this mean you can't use exposure compensation when in aperture priority mode? Sounds weird to me.

I'm not sure what the reviewer meant; his comment was in reference to the flash. Maybe he was referring to 'flash exposure compensation', which you cannot change with the camera, only with a high end flash like the 550EX. But then I don't know what aperture priority has to do with FEC.
But in any event, you certainly can change exposure compensation in Av, Tv, and P modes (+/- 2 stops).

Thanks for replying.
That was initially what I thought, but since I dont have my 300d yet, I couldnt verify.

I know you cannot change focus mode (One shot, AI Focus, AI servo) in the M, P, Av, Tv modes.
Same may apply to exposure modes (evaluative, centerweighted, partial metering).
FEC is not selectable from the camera body.
The 300D manual is posted online in a few places, I would suggest you review the function chart.
