I was on the football team and at half time when we are at home there is a little storage room off the field that gets cleared out at halftime. The football team marches in and sits/kneels towards the (4-6) coaches and a chalk board. There are a few lights hanging from the cealing giving off a yellowish hue. All i could ever think about in there (aside from the game of course) was how photogenic this room was.

I also realized that there are a few places where a footbal team is secluded from the "media" and the world, the locker room for example...this little storage shack.

I never thought he'd let me, but today i was standing next to my (former) coach and i decided to bring it up months in advance...before i even told him i may not even need a flash he said "Anytime Tim". I know darn well not anyone can get in that room...it's closed off, people stand watch outside of the door, and he's just going to let me in.

Not only that but he asked me to come to camps/games and take pictures (i already planed on it  )

I just cant wait till next football season, it's so hard to walk away from that sport, but i think with photography it is something i'll never have to leave.

Cool! It's those kind of connections that can make or a break a shoot. That's why the media in general is so aggressive. They are all fighting for that exclusive. All fighting for a way 'in' to get their photo that no one else captures.

That's the trouble when you're shooting say a sporing event with 30 photo-boys around. Everyone's basically shooting the exact same thing. It makes it difficult to make your photos stand out above the others.

Well i live in a fairly small town and unless it's a major game the only newspaper that is there is our small wana be paper. She is my friends mom, she does great work but she uses an old 35mm with a 200mm lens. So i'm sure it wouldnt be that hard to one up her. Especially with candid shots like the one i'm seeing in my head.
