Hi All,

Great forum. Just bought the 10D. Can't decide which device to drool on more, my g4 laptop or my camera. It is truly a wonderful photographic device.

Anyway, I am having problems with downloading raw files using canon's software. Downloading is actually fine, but the Raw file are showing up as untagged in Adobe's Camera RAW plug-in file brouwser. My in camera setting is set for Adobe 1998 color space. Am I doing something wrong or does the file not get tagged? Does 1.3.2 fix it?

I have put a few hours into trying to update my softwareware with canon's viewfinder update 1.3.2 from their site... but have had no luck getting it installed. Anyone else have problems or am I just stupid.

Finally, is there any third pary tool available for communicating/downloading RAW files from the camera?

thanks in advance

Which version and platform of Photoshop are you using?
I guess Mac since you mention a G4 laptop.

On the Mac in Photoshop 7 & CS and I think previous Photoshops go under Photoshop>Color Settings>Color Management Profiles in the RGB drop down pick Preserve Embeded Profiles and for Profile mismatches pick ask when opening.

I think this would solve your problem?

First of all, I wouldn't even mess with the Canon FVU, give Breezebrowser a try http://www.breezesys.com/. It does the file converstion better and quicker. The same company has Downloader (freeware) and Downloader Pro that does the automated communicating and downloading of your files from either the camera or the card. As an F.Y.I. most of us use card readers as opposed to downloading from the camera, it's much quicker (USB v2.0 instead of 1.1 on the 10D). Both of these are available to try out on the site.

If you look on page 58 of the 10D manual: "Images captured with Adobe RGB will not be apended with an ICC profile. To convert the profile, AdobeRGB must be specified." As suggested above, use BreezeBrowser or C1LE and assign Adobe RGB.

Thank-you. Figured out the viewfinder update also. Knew I was not that stupid.. I had heard of Breezer. I thought it was for post processing. Nice to know I can get the Canon software out of my workflow.. Will check it out.

Thanks again.
