Hello everyone Im going to possibly buy three lens in the next few days and im trying to make sure I get what I need. I'll have once again a 30D and maybe the lens listed below.

EFS 10-22 f3.5-4.5
EF 24-105 f4L IS
EF 50 1.4
and I currently have 70-200 f2.8L non IS

First of all I don't have a specific style of shooting, I have only REALLY been into photography for the last 6 months or so. I'm not sure what else I'll be getting into so I need some equipment that will Kind of give me some variety. I'm also kind of limited on money but If I run out it's not like I can't refill my wallet back up... Eventually. For this purchase whats listed above is around what I can afford.

Here is a list of what I shoot.
Soccer
Cars
Drag Racing
Family Partys
Home Interiors for Real Estate
and im starting to travel quite abit..
I know I shoot more but that's the jist of things...

I'll also be picking up a 580EX now for every day shotting and a AlienBees set up in a few months for portrait/product photography (Family Friend Own's her own store).

Thanks for any opinions and If my lens choice isn't to your liking let me know what you would change.

Thanks once again.

What made you sell your 30D in the first place? Your lens choices is pretty good, other then costing a small fortune there is nothing wrong with them at all.

A 580ex is probably overkill for a 30D though and the 430ex has nothing wrong with it at all and works great. But its prefference I guess.

I figure I'd do it right and buy something that I will use and learn on for quite along time.. I sold the 30D thinking I was either going to buy a new dirtbike or upgrade to a 5D but I ended up getting hooked up by my uncle on a used 2002 KX250 so the 5D is out of the question and it's not like I needed it. I was talked into selling the 30D and getting the 5D but I think ill Pick up another 30..

Think of it this way, over kill is a good thing. You can turn a 580EX down, but you cant turn a 430EX up

Part of my Thinking.

Sounds like a great lens line up for the needs you have listed, but if you check my sig you will see that I'm too biased to be objective :D

AHhahAHhA sounds good. Anything you would change in your line up if you wern't so bias:p .. I think my picks look like the right choices but for some reason I keep on second guessing myself. It also might be I have to much time on my hands...

My overlap in lens' is the Tamron 17-50/2.8 Di II, EF 85/1.8, and the 70-200/4L. Wish I had the 2.8L, but a bit out of budget right now. I don't hear much talk about the Tamron, but it is a very affordable and a very excellent performer. My 17-50 and 85mm cost less than the EF 17-40/4L.
Though the more I think about it, the lens choices you gave cover just about what my needs would be also.

I would say a 24-70 f2.8 L is a must but then again it is so freaking big that maybe not. Its a freak! But I guess that is a good thing because its so much you want to feel like you got your money's worth.

You might also want to consider a 300mm f4 IS L prime. I know seems like a pretty big prime and you are right it is but man that thing is just so awesome (as long as you dont buy a unworking used one :( its been at canon for 5 long weeks and counting :() It simply is awesome. But I would love to get a 70-200 f2.8 L lens someday, IS or not (maybe you sell me yours and you upgrade to IS :)) LOL ah this camera stuff can get as addicting as heroin and costs as much I think

It's a great lineup you have chosen. Many would be more that happy to have that selection. The only change I might suggest would be getting the 24-70L instead of the 24-105L. If I understand correctly the AF of the 30D is better with f/2.8 or faster lenses. Besides, I have the 24-70L and it's one really nice lens.

Of course sold to you :D .. HahhAHHa. And the 70-200 is yours, you know where to send the money :p .. Honestly it is amost addicting as DRUG's. I stay up late and some times forget to eat or eat while I browse/read. I wake in my zombie like state and try to search and read some more. At work I fade out as if I were stoned, thinking where and what to shoot next. And the spending never stops, it's turing out to cost a small fortune like you stated.. But its all worth it when you come back and look through the pictures you just took and find ALL the keppers..:D

It does cost a fortune but only as much as you deem to be. The good thing though is when you buy the best there is always people who are willing to pay good money for it used so if you decide its no longer fun, you can usually get at least half you money back which is more then most "hobbies" and the photos remain yours.

True that.. Ok I was thinking some more and I think im going to go for the Sharper IQ/Faster lens and not get the Canon 50 1.4 in this order and spend that on a good tripod set up..

So my setup would be -
Canon 24-70 f2.8L
Canon 10-22 f3.5-4.5
Canon 70-200 f2.8L
Canon 580EX
And a Manfrotto 3021BPRO/488RC2 ??? what do you think about that setup?? Also I'll be in Oahu in November so I need to hurry up and order to make sure everything is Sharp and ready..

Thanks
Sounds good to me..

My buddy that shoots a 28-70L f/2.8 just got his hands on a 17-55mm f/2.8 EF-S IS, he can't stop raving about this lens. You may want to look into it as your main lens.
