I would like some of the features in Photoshop 7.0, and see that Adobe is now selling CS (would have been 8.0) as the current product. Adobe indicates that the upgrade price from 5.0 LE to CS is $499.00 (USD), somewhat less than the full package, and significantly more than the upgrade from 7.0 to CS priced at $169.00.

I am interested to know if anyone has experience making a low cost upgrade from 5.0 LE to 7.0 since some retailers are still selling 7.0 for about $139.00 (upgrade price). I just don't know if 5.0 LE is 'upgradable' since it is considered a low-end product provided for free with many cameras.

Larry

I think the natural (though not dramatic) "upgrade" is to PS Elements 2.0

I agree. PSE2 is more then enough for most non professional applications. All the photos in my galleries were edited in PSE2.

PSE2 is indeed a lot of bang for the buck, and would be the logical upgrade.

:wink:If you must have the newest version of Photoshop, why don't you upgrade to ver.7 and then to CS = $308

I am not sure that you can upgrade from LE to PS 7. My suggestion is to get PS Elements 2 (for under $100). It is good enough for most of image post processing. Once you think you need more than PSE 2, you can upgrade to CS (from Elements 2) for $299. Here is the link:

Note: Though, it is for Microtek owners, many non Microtek owners have upgraded to CS using this offer.
